I'm proud I've been a part of changing the way business is done in Springfield.

One of the pieces of legislation I'm proudest of is the Illinois Transparency and Accountability Portal (HB35, PA96-0225). It puts every state transaction online, and will do wonders to create more open and responsible government.
I'm working to clean up runaway spending on the Bipartisan Taskforce on Government Reform and Spending Reductions. My goal is to bring jobs back to Illinois. I'm serving on the Bipartisan Job Creation Taskforce to make sure we have a strong, common sense plan to renew Illinois' job market. It won't happen overnight, but we are going to turn this state around.
Transportation Experience with the DuKane Valley Council and the Kendall Mayors and Managers taught me the importance of strategically planning regional roadway expansion and repair.
Education Experience with one of the fastest growing school districts in the state taught me the complexity of the funding issue, and gives me a unique insight into possible solutions.
Chaos in Springfield Leadership experience on elected and volunteer boards taught me to seek collaboration and cooperation to achieve a common goal, rather than conflict. I don’t care who gets the credit, as long as the people are well served.
The Budget Crisis I am a fiscal conservative, and believe you should not spend money you don’t have. My conservative voting record has been profiled by the United Republican Fund, the state's oldest independent Republican organization. Fiscal responsibility, free markets and a respect for preserving individual freedoms are all part of their criteria.
The Business Environment Experience as a member of many Illinois Chambers of Commerce and the Valley Industrial Association taught me that more taxes are not the answer.
Our Senior Citizens As a professional senior advocate I help protect the rights and dignity of those over 60 years of age on a daily basis. I believe it is how we treat the frailest among us that truly shows our humanity.
Our Freedom As the spouse of a disabled veteran, I understand that protecting our freedom is an honor as well as an obligation. We fly the flag and support the 2nd Amendment.
